Construction materials with PCM can reduce the thermo-energetic demand of a room or building during heating and cooling. By making use of the temperature fluctuations between daytime and nighttime, the regenerative energy can be used for temperature control because of the temporal shift. Construction materials with PCM can autonomously attenuate a quick increase or decrease of the room temperature and counteract the overheating or excessive cooling of a room by doing so. They allow to positively influencing indoor room temperature by storing direct solar radiation or internal loads for example. Both encapsulated and non-encapsulated PCM can be used.
